Pacgold (ASX:PGO) expanded drilling at Alice River Gold Project in Queensland
Broad mineralisation zones outlined across Central, Southern, and Posie areas
Further exploration includes Victoria, Jerry Dodds, and White Lion prospects
Pacgold (ASX:PGO), listed on the s&p/asx 200, has advanced drilling at its Alice River Gold Project located in North Queensland. The program has expanded mineralisation across several zones, positioning the project as a significant exploration effort within the Australian gold sector.
Drilling outcomes across Alice River project
The company reported broad mineralisation from reverse circulation drilling undertaken at the Southern and Central project areas. Work completed has confirmed extensions of earlier identified gold zones, with intersections highlighting both continuity and new growth areas within the project.
At the Central area, drill holes intersected intervals of notable grade, adding further confirmation to earlier resource assessments. Meanwhile, the Southern area revealed strong continuity of mineralisation at depth and along strike, providing broader definition of the system across this part of the project.
Exploration at multiple targets
Pacgold undertook work across a total of several dozen reverse circulation holes, with exploration distributed between Central, Southern, and the Posie prospect. Each of these zones displayed mineralisation zones consistent with the broader geological setting of the Alice River district.
Follow-up drilling is now underway at the Victoria and Jerry Dodds zones, where the company aims to complete its work program. Alongside this, a maiden round of exploration is advancing at the White Lion geophysical feature, a large-scale structure defined by subsurface chargeability readings.
Focus on the White Lion feature
White Lion represents one of the largest geophysical anomalies identified within the project area to date. The structure spans a wide strike length with significant subsurface chargeability, lying beneath shallow cover. Initial drilling has been designed to test this anomaly and establish its relationship to known mineralisation at Alice River.
The feature is regarded as an important addition to the portfolio of project zones, offering a fresh exploration frontier beyond the already drilled Central and Southern zones. Exploration activity at White Lion is expected to provide a clearer understanding of its role within the regional mineral system.
Extensive aircore drilling program
Alongside the reverse circulation drilling, Pacgold has also completed a large-scale aircore program. This work comprised hundreds of shallow holes drilled to map extensions southeast of Victoria and Jerry Dodds. The aim was to establish fresh drill-ready locations for upcoming campaigns through the next stages of the exploration timeline.
The aircore results have provided a clearer structural framework, guiding ongoing drilling across the Alice River project. These efforts build on earlier discoveries and are designed to create a pipeline of exploration targets for the company across its extensive tenement package.
Position within Queensland mineral province
The Alice River Gold Project is situated at the northern end of the Northeast Queensland Mineral Province, a region historically known for its gold systems. Pacgold’s work highlights the scale and continuity of mineralisation within the province, where multiple prospects are now being advanced simultaneously.
