GTI Energy (ASX:GTR) is advancing toward a significant milestone with a resource update for its Lo Herma In-Situ Recovery (ISR) Uranium Project in Wyoming. The company is set to deliver this update by December, marking the completion of its current drilling campaign and preparations for a Scoping Study in the first part of 2025.
At the Global Uranium Conference 2024 in Adelaide, Executive Director Bruce Lane spoke about the company’s progress and the increasing interest in nuclear energy, particularly from data centers looking to adopt nuclear power solutions. This trend aligns with the broader discussions at the conference about the growing demand for clean energy alternatives.
The Lo Herma project, located in Converse County within the Powder River Basin, is in its final phase of 2024 activities. These activities include drilling and constructing three hydrogeologic and water monitoring wells, essential for future exploration and resource estimation. This phase will position GTI Energy to update its Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) and set new exploration targets by the end of the year.
As the global demand for uranium continues to rise, particularly in the context of shifting energy policies, GTI Energy’s efforts to develop Lo Herma have attracted attention. The project’s potential to contribute to the uranium supply chain could be significant, especially in light of its location in a key uranium-producing region in the U.S.
GTI Energy’s upcoming resource update and the anticipated Scoping Study for Lo Herma in 2025 could mark important steps forward in advancing its uranium exploration and development goals.
