On Thursday morning, Bubs Australia Limited (ASX:BUB) informed that it would deliver its infant formula products to the USA. The first delivery will take off on 9 June, and the second on 11 June 2022. The announcement came as the Biden Administration has announced Fourth Operation Fly Formula Mission.

As a part of the mission, the government will offer a way to air ship approximately 4.6 million 8-ounce bottles. This delivery will include 380,000 pounds of Bubs Australia infant formula. According to the ASX-announcement, Bubs expects that its products will be displayed on the shelves of the major US retailers.

The shares of Bubs were spotted trading 11.111% up at AU$0.650 per share on the ASX at 11:36 AM AEST.

Bubs Australia is an infant formula manufacturer that offers premium infant nutrition products and goat dairy products. The company claims that it is a leading manufacturer of goat dairy products across Australia. The products are exported to the USA, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and China.

Bubs baby formula flying to the USA

On 1 June 2022, Joe Biden, president of the USA, reportedly announced that his administration had sourced two flights to transport Bubs infant formulas from Australia to California and Pennsylvania. The flights are facilitated by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Bubs Australia and the US government have been working closely after the Food and Drug Administration said that the agency is using its enforcement discretion. This paved the way for Bubs to export infant formula. 

The present delivery includes 380,000 pounds of Bubs' baby formula. The six products to be exported are

  • Bubs Organic Infant Formula S1
  • Bubs Organic Follow On Formula S2
  • Bubs Supreme Infant Formula
  • Supreme Follow On Formula
  • Bubs Goat Milk Infant Formula S1
  • Bubs Goat Milk Follow On Formula S2

The administration is expected to announce additional deliveries in the coming days. Bubs' management highlighted in today's announcement that subsequent logistics and flights are in the process of distributing 27.5 million bottles of Bubs products to the USA retailers.

On the development, CEO and founder of Bubs, Kristy Carr commented:

In addition to this, Carr participated in the roundtable discussion with Biden and other senior officials. Commenting on the roundtable, Carr highlighted that FDA gives utmost priority to safety, and Bubs satisfies all the safety standards.
