Questcorp continues mapping and geochemical sampling at La Union
Magnetic drone survey aids in identifying structural features below surface
Preparations underway for upcoming drill program in Sonora, Mexico
The precious metals sector continues to attract attention with increased exploration activity, and Canadian-based Questcorp Mining (CSE:QQQ) is extending its footprint through advancing surface exploration at the La Union Gold-Silver Project in Sonora, Mexico. Though not listed on any ASX index, its operations may influence regional sentiment in emerging mineral zones as broader metals exploration remains in focus.
The project is located within a geologically prospective region featuring a complex lithological mix conducive to high-grade mineral systems.
Surface Geochemistry and Structural Mapping in Focus
Questcorp’s current exploration focus includes detailed geochemical sampling and mapping efforts designed to refine subsurface target areas. The company is prioritising the delineation of mineralised transition zones that emerge from beneath post-mineral cover. These zones are key in identifying structures that may impact continuity and concentration of mineralisation at depth.
With terrain comprising both exposed and covered sections, the exploration team is working to define zones where ore-bearing units extend from the pediment into more accessible surface regions.
Magnetic Survey Highlights Subsurface Potential
A recently completed drone magnetic survey was carried out to enhance understanding of the underlying geological structures across La Union. The airborne survey provided data on potential feeder systems, interpreted faults, and structural offsets hidden beneath post-mineral cover.
This survey supports the broader mapping program by offering a structural blueprint of the region, enabling the technical team to prioritise targets more effectively for future drilling. This geophysical component is expected to complement the geochemical results already gathered.
La Union Prepares for Planned Drilling Phase
Questcorp has confirmed plans to move forward with drilling at La Union, expected to begin later in the calendar year. This drill campaign aims to test anomalies defined through surface data and magnetic signatures. Preparatory work includes finalising drill locations and coordinating logistics across the rugged Sonoran landscape.
The upcoming campaign builds on a recently signed definitive option agreement between Questcorp and Riverside Resources (TSX-V:RRI), under which Questcorp may secure full rights to the La Union Project. Riverside, as the current operator, is also mobilising geophysical contractors to execute orientation surveys that will shape follow-up detailed studies.
Team Brings In-Country Knowledge to La Union
Questcorp’s leadership has highlighted the significance of local exploration experience, particularly from partner Riverside’s geological team. This expertise, rooted in the regional tectonic and metallogenic frameworks, continues to shape exploration outcomes.
The La Union Project is situated in a carbonate replacement setting, hosted within sedimentary sequences overlaying crystalline basement rocks of the Caborca terrane—features often associated with productive mineral systems. Such geological traits have made the site a focal point of Questcorp’s North American strategy.
