Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reported an expansion of 0.3 per cent in the Consumer Price Index (or CPI) for March 2020 quarter.
- The expansion in CPI remained significantly low against the previous quarter expansion of 0.7 per cent, however, remained higher than the market consensus of 0.2 per cent.
- The index rose by 2.2 per cent over the twelve-month period to March 2020, slightly up against the rise of 1.8 per cent over the twelve months to the December 2019 quarter.
