Union Jack Oil PLC and Reabold Resources PLC are currently seeking approval from the Environment Agency for their proposed work program at the West Newton gas development project located in Yorkshire, part of the Oil & Gas sector. The approval is a critical step that will enable the joint venture partners to proceed with plans to recomplete the West Newton A-2 well, a key component of their operational strategy.

Project Overview and Objectives

The primary goal of the upcoming work is to address well bore damage that occurred during prior drilling activities. This remediation work is vital for enhancing the well's integrity and optimizing its productivity. Union Jack (OTC:UJOGF) has confirmed that it is fully funded for this program, demonstrating a commitment to advancing the project efficiently once the necessary approvals are secured.

While the Environment Agency's approval is awaited, it is important to note that the project also requires a permit from the North Sea Transition Authority. Securing both approvals is essential for the joint venture to move forward with the planned activities at West Newton.

Union Jack's Stake in the Project

Union Jack Oil holds a 16.665% interest in the West Newton project, which has been identified as a significant gas development opportunity within the region. The collaborative efforts with Reabold Resources are aimed at maximizing the potential of this asset, ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met before progressing with the proposed work program.

The joint venture partners have expressed confidence in the project's prospects, contingent upon receiving the necessary approvals. The West Newton development is part of a broader strategy to enhance gas production in the UK, contributing to energy security and sustainability goals.

The joint venture is currently at a pivotal stage, with regulatory approvals determining the next steps in the West Newton gas development project. The focus remains on achieving the required permits to enable remedial work on the West Newton A-2 well and to advance the project as planned.
