North Bay Resources Inc. has revealed encouraging assay results from recent underground sampling at its Mt. Vernon Gold Mine, located in Sierra County, California. This site, which sits within the mining sector, is showing significant promise, particularly for the discovery of gold and platinum group metals. These findings reinforce the potential of the mine to become a key source of valuable metals in the region.
The latest sampling results confirmed impressive concentrations of gold, platinum, palladium, and rhodium, marking a major step forward for North Bay’s mining operations. Conducted over a 230-foot stretch of the mine, the samples yielded up to 5 ounces of gold per ton, alongside notable quantities of platinum, palladium, and rhodium. Verified by Enviro-Chem Analytical Laboratory, these results are consistent with earlier findings that suggested the presence of high-grade materials across the Mt. Vernon site.
Preparation for Bulk Tonnage Mining
In light of the positive assay results, North Bay Resources (OTC: NBRI) is preparing to initiate bulk tonnage mining operations at the Mt. Vernon Gold Mine. The company plans to extract nearly 500 tons of ore from four primary tunnels within the site. This ore will be transported directly to the Bishop Gold Mill, which has demonstrated effective processing capabilities for separating and concentrating the various metals discovered at the site. This stage of the operation is expected to yield further valuable material from what is already considered a promising location.
Significant Potential in a Large Gold-Bearing Zone
The Mt. Vernon Gold Mine features a broad gold-bearing zone, approximately 200 feet wide, which has shown substantial potential for high-grade metal extraction. Previous sampling efforts in the area consistently returned results with gold concentrations exceeding 1 ounce per ton, highlighting the rich nature of the deposit. With an estimated ore body of nearly one million tons, North Bay Resources is positioning itself for a major expansion of operations at this site.
These results not only confirm the presence of gold but also suggest that platinum group metals such as platinum, palladium, and rhodium may play an important role in future mining efforts at Mt. Vernon. The scale of the project, combined with the quality of the materials uncovered, suggests that North Bay’s operations in Sierra County could significantly contribute to the production of precious metals.
