Alkane Resources Ltd {OTC:ALKEF} is advancing its regional exploration initiatives at the Tomingley Gold Project (TGP) in Central West New South Wales, with the goal of extending the operational life of Tomingley Gold Operations (TGO), currently set to continue until 2032. The TGP covers an expansive area of 440 square kilometers, which includes both open-pit and underground operations associated with TGO.
Plans for the TGP include a significant expansion of the processing facility, targeting an increased capacity of 1.75 million tonnes per year by the fiscal year ending in 2026. This expansion is expected to enhance operational efficiency and increase overall production.
Previous exploration success at the TGP has resulted in the addition of resources from the Roswell and San Antonio deposits, which are now part of TGO. Notably, ore processing from the Roswell underground began in April 2024, marking a significant milestone in the project's development.
Current exploration efforts are focused on several new targets within the TGP, including the Plains, El Paso, and Allendale areas. Recent activities have involved a combination of airborne geophysical surveys, aircore drilling, reverse circulation (RC) drilling, and diamond drilling. These efforts have yielded promising assay results, revealing new geological insights that enhance the understanding of the area's mineral potential.
The survey data and drilling results have identified new geological structures, prospective volcanic belts, and potential porphyry sources, which will help prioritize future exploration activities. As Alkane Resources continues to explore these promising targets, the ongoing efforts are expected to contribute to the overall growth and sustainability of the Tomingley Gold Project, reinforcing its position within the Australian gold mining sector.
