Coronavirus Alert level to go to 4 in UK as cases go up | UK Market Update

The UK government officials have confirmed that the Joint Biosecurity Centre has recommended for the Covid-19 alert level to be moved up from level 3 at present to level 4 on an immediate basis as no measures are taken to curb the rapidly rising infections. If things continue as it is, the duo has also predicted a big number of 200 daily deaths by middle of November 2020. Earlier, it was lowered to level 3 on 19 June 2020, when the infection rate was seen to be steadily moving down across the nation. The infections are increasing at a fast pace across all four nations of the Great Britain namely England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.

Research by the FCA says, 10 million home and car insurance customers should now be able to save nearly £120 a year each as UK financial regulator bans the industry from charging higher premiums to all the loyal customers. Financial Conduct Authority said that the firms shouldn't be offering a higher price to new customers. This move shall save consumers – elderly and low income groups who do not shop much around– about £3.7bn over the next 10 years.
