Hereford-based charity Hope Spring was honoured with the esteemed Water Conservation Award, by the Sustainable Empowerment Access Network (SEAN). This accolade celebrates the organisation’s outstanding efforts to alleviate water poverty and promote sustainable water practices, significantly transforming underserved communities in Nigeria.
The award was presented in recognition of the impactful Ifedayo Community Borehole Project, an initiative that provided sustainable access to clean water for residents of the Ifedayo community in Kwara State. Managed by Dr. Rahmat Odurinde-Adebisi, in collaboration with community representative Comrade Abidemi, the project exemplifies Hope Spring Water’s dedication to grassroots change and innovative partnerships.
Commenting on the achievement, Mubarak Oladosu, a trustee of Hope Spring Water, said:“The Ifedayo Community Borehole Project has transformed lives and empowered the community with reliable access to clean water. This award is a testament to the power of collective effort and the profound impact of sustainable projects.”
In 2024, Hope Spring Water led several notable projects, including the Adeba-Lekki Clean Water Project, the Orimolade Ifako Community Borehole Project, and the Ifeloju Community Borehole Project. These initiatives addressed critical water challenges while fostering environmental sustainability.
A significant portion of the charity’s funding comes from its innovative eCard platform, Hope Spring Charity eCards. The platform, particularly its Christmas eCards section, has been a cornerstone of the charity’s fundraising efforts, which has enabled the organization to sustain its vital projects.
