Lloyds Banking Group PLC announced the suspension of dividends and halted share buybacks

Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LON: LLOY) has released its update on dividend payments.

  • Considering unparallel challenges thrown by Covid-19 and need to serve the businesses and households, the board decided to undertake not to undertake any dividend or share buybacks on ordinary shares.
  • Moreover, in accord with PRA guidance, the board ceased final dividend of 2019 as well
  • The group will hold AGM on 21st May 2020 and will review the further dividend policy and amount at the year-end of 2020.
  • On 1st April 2020, at the time of writing, GMT 09:46 AM, LLOY shares were trading at GBX 30.21, down by 1.79 points or 5.58% against the previous day closing price.
