Helium (HNT) crypto is primarily a blockchain-based protocol which allows any network to connect to IoT devices. Operating on the Proof-of-Coverage consensus, the HNT crypto allows seamless communication between different devices across network nodes. The HNT crypto allows the users to earn reward points for mining the token.

The network uses the hotspots to relay the coverage on an access layer control protocol known as LoRaWAN. Also dubbed the people’s network, the HNT crypto focusses on creating a decentralised global network to allow the IoT devices to function in a seamless manner.

The HNT token on 3 August witnessed a minor rally of 0.57% at 6:56 AM (GMT +1), according to CoinMarketCap. However, from the volume perspective, it struggled to impress the investors as it was down by over 21%.

Reason for HNT crypto rally

Today’s rally must bring cheer to the faces of HNT investors. Over the past month or so, the token has been portraying bearishness, with the token being down by 4.9%.

This is reflective even in the charts as the HNT token has had a subdued performance off late with the odd gain.

If one were to look at the chart, it would reflect that the Signal line has hovered over the MACD line indicating the loss in momentum. Even though the MACD line managed to climb above the signal line last week, it has once again dropped below.

Even the RSI indicates the loss in investor interest as it stood at 42.78 at the time of writing.

HNT’s price performance

The 49th-ranked HNT crypto was trading at US$8.68 with a volume of US$68,88,581, as per CoinMarketCap. The token was enjoying a market cap of US$1,06,71,23,736 with 12,29,46,827 HNT coins in circulation.

The HNT token’s price has depreciated since it achieved its all-time high in November 2021, during the crypto bull rally. In fact, it has lost over 84% of its value since it achieved its ATH of US$54.88.

The HNT’s minor rally may also be due to the uptrend in the overall crypto market, which was up by 1.71% in the past 24 hours with a global market cap of US$1.07 trillion. But with the way crypto markets have behaved of late, the participants would do well to ensure that they don’t jump to conclusions and do their research before taking any significant investment decisions.
