Baylin Technologies Inc. (TSX:BYL) (OTCQB:BYLTF) announced that its subsidiary, Advantech Wireless Technologies, has received a purchase order valued at CAD 665,000 (USD ~490,000). The order was placed by a U.S.–based system integrator for the supply of 200-watt outdoor S-band gallium nitride (GaN) solid state power amplifiers (SSPAs).
The equipment is set to be deployed in the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) battlefield terminals.
Application in Battlefield Communication
The GaN-based amplifiers, part of Advantech’s Genesis product line, will play a role in enhancing satellite communication systems. The technology provides high power efficiency and durability, characteristics that are critical in defense applications.
The amplifiers also feature CAN-Bus operating platform integration, enabling users to access component-level diagnostics. This platform supports the ability to monitor system performance and adjust operational parameters remotely, reducing downtime and improving operational flexibility.
Advantech’s Role in Satellite Communications
Advantech Wireless Technologies has built a presence in supplying satellite communication solutions to defense and commercial markets. Its product portfolio includes state power amplifiers, frequency converters, and satellite networking equipment.
The newly secured order aligns with the company’s ongoing work in supplying equipment to U.S. and international defense agencies, highlighting the application of its technologies in both government and private-sector projects.
