  • Marimaca Copper announces discovery of northern extension of the Pampa Medina deposit.
  • SMR-01 hole reports significant oxide copper and chalcocite mineralization.
  • Company explores potential for further copper oxide mineralization at Pias target.

Marimaca Copper Corp. (TSX:MARI) is pleased to announce the discovery of the northern extension of the Pampa Medina deposit, located approximately 26 kilometers from the Company’s flagship Marimaca Oxide Deposit (“MOD”). This marks a significant development for the Company’s exploration strategy in the region. The northern extension was revealed by hole SMR-01, which was drilled 400 meters north of the known northern extent of the Pampa Medina deposit. The results suggest that the mineralization at Pampa Medina continues to expand, with important implications for the growth of Marimaca Copper's resource base.

The SMR-01 drill hole intersected a notable zone of oxide copper and chalcocite mineralization from 272 meters to 462 meters, transitioning into chalcopyrite-bornite mineralization from 462 meters to 650 meters (the final depth of the hole). The hole was terminated in mineralization due to operational challenges at depth. The highest-grade mineralization intersected included an 18-meter interval from 320 meters grading 5.11% copper (CuT). In total, SMR-01 intersected 400 meters at 0.49% CuT from 250 meters, including multiple higher-grade intervals that support the discovery’s potential for additional resource delineation at Pampa Medina Norte.

While true widths cannot be determined at this time, the drill hole was oriented to intersect the key manto-hosting lithological units perpendicular to their orientation, providing valuable insight into the extension of the mineralization at depth. The Company plans additional drilling to further define the extent of the mineralization.

In addition to the Pampa Medina discovery, Marimaca Copper has also reported promising results from its maiden scout drilling program at the Pias target, located approximately 15 kilometers northwest of Pampa Medina. The scout drilling at Pias has demonstrated the potential for near-surface copper oxide mineralization, supporting the broader exploration potential within the Sierra de Medina (“SdM”) Property Block.

With these new results, the Company is considering an expanded exploration program at Pampa Medina Norte in 2025. Marimaca Copper remains optimistic about the growth of its exploration portfolio, particularly with the promising results from both the Pampa Medina extension and the Pias target.
