Cannabis stocks are soaring as the new president-elect of the United States is expected to ease cannabis sales restrictions. New York State is also already set to legalize recreational cannabis this year. Pot stocks are gaining good traction on the Canadian stock exchanges too. The S&P/TSX Cannabis Index shows a nearly 9 per cent growth in the last three months, and the index is up almost 15.5 per cent in the last one month.

We will look at the following three smallcap stocks from Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX): The Green Organic Dutchman Holdings (TSX:TGOD), Charlotte's Web Holdings Inc. (TSX:CWEB), and Village Farms International Inc. (TSX:VFF).

The Green Organic Dutchman Holdings (TSX:TGOD)

Ontario-based The Green Organic Dutchman operates through its affiliate as a cannabinoid-based research and development company. The company produces organic cannabis goods, such as organic dried cannabis, cannabis oils and edibles, fresh cannabis, etc. The pot company generates most of its revenue from Europe.

This stock is a part of TMX’s Top Volume stocklist, that lists stocks with the highest trading volume across the TSX and TSX Venture (TSXV) in the last 10 days.

The smallcap stock is trading flat since the pandemic-led market collapse on March 19. Its 10-day average trading volume is 3.04 million units.

The pot stock’s current market cap stands at C$ 111.6 million. Its price-to-book (P/B) ratio is 0.52, and the debt-to-equity(D/E) ratio is 0.20.

The cannabis company posted total revenue of C$ 5.71 million in the third quarter of 2020, a 119 per cent surge over Q3 2019. The midcap pot company recorded an increase of 41 per cent in its revenue quarter-over-quarter.

TGOD recently appointed Michel Gagné as the COO, and CFO Sean Bovingdon will be the interim CEO.

Charlotte's Web Holdings Inc (TSX:CWEB)

Charlotte’s Web Holdings Inc is a US-based cannabis company that produces and retails hemp-based cannabidiol (CBD) health products. The company distributes its goods via an e-commerce website, select wholesalers, and a variety of retailer stores. CWEB generates its revenue from the United States.

The pot stock made it to TMX’s Top healthcare stocklist that has stocks with the highest gains across the TSX and TSX Venture (TSXV) in the last 30 days.

The smallcap stock has recently picked up the pace and surged by nearly 27.5 per cent in the past one month. Shares of CWEB have posted a rise of 16.74 per cent since the pandemic-led market collapse on March 19. In the last three months, the stock has increased by over 7 per cent.

The pot stock’s current market cap is C$ 500.6 million. Its price-to-book (P/B) ratio is 1.949, and the debt-to-equity(D/E) ratio is 0.09.

CWEB Q2 2020 Highlights

The company recorded an e-commerce growth of 33.6 per cent in the second quarter of 2020, mainly offsets a fall in retail sales because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The smallcap company registered consolidated revenue of US$ 21.6 million in Q2 2020 versus US$ 25.0 million in Q2 2019.

The company posted an adjusted gross profit of US$ 14.0 million (without inventory provisions), or 64.8 per cent of consolidated revenue.

CWEB will release its Q3 2020 earnings report on November 12.

Village Farms International Inc. (TSX:VFF)

Village Farms International operates in agricultural facilities along with its subsidiaries. The smallcap company manages its business through the following three divisions: JV Cannabis Pure Sunfarms Corp, Produce Business, and Energy Business. The company ships most of its goods to the United States.

Village Farms International has been ranked among TMX’s Top Consumer Goods stocklist that has stocks with the largest gains across the TSX and TSX Venture (TSXV) in the last 30 days.

The smallcap stock has swelled by over 25 per cent in the last one month. Stocks of VFF have rebounded over 159 per cent since the pandemic-led market crash on March 20. In the last three months, the stock has increased by almost 8 per cent.

Its current market cap stands at C$ 563.2 million. Its price-to-book (P/B) ratio is 3.117, and the debt-to-equity(D/E) ratio is 0.28. VFF’s current price-to-cashflow is 64.20.

Village Farms International announced that its majority-owned (58.7 per cent interest) joint venture Pure Sunfarms, has commenced shipping of its low-cost first Cannabis 2.0 and bottled oil items. The company will be shipping its upgraded cannabis products across British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta is the next on the list.

The company reported a net income gain of C$ 4.7 million on receipt of Pure Sunfarms stocks from Emerald Therapeutics according to the Settlement Agreement.

Village Farms International will announce its Q3 2020 earnings on November 13.
