The broader Canadian index settled in green on Thursday, June 25, after the US announced a US$ 1.2 trillion infrastructure package for the next eight years.
The S&P/TSX Composite Index gained 0.25%, or 50.73 points, to settle at 20,215.12. The S&P/TSX 60, on the other hand, jumped 0.25% to 1,211.67.
The market also gained momentum on the back of global reopening, with seven out of 11 major sectors on the TSX noting an increase.

Actively Traded Stocks
The most actively traded stocks on the TSX on Thursday were Bombardier Inc, with a trading volume of 8.61 million, followed by Manulife Financial Corporation, with 5.80 million, and Canadian Natural Resources Limited, with 5.20 million.
Wall Street Update
Following the announcement of the infrastructure package, the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished significantly higher on Thursday, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite also finished in record territory. Financial and energy stocks led increases in the S&P 500, indicating companies that stand to benefit the most from a resurgence in activity.
All major indices traded in the green. The Dow closed 322.58 points or 0.95% up at 34,197, the S&P 500 jumped up 24.65 points or 0.58% to 4,266 while the Nasdaq fetched 97.98 points or 0.69% to 14,370.
Commodity Update
Gold traded in the red territory at US$ 1,776.70, down 0.38%.
The crude price stretched its gaining momentum as Brent Oil traded higher at US$ 75.56/bbl, up 0.49%, while WTI Crude Oil rose to US$ 73.30/bbl.
Currency News
The Canadian Dollar halted its three-day gains and ended in red against the US greenback, while USD/CAD stood at 1.2322, up 0.14%.
The US Dollar Index stood flat against the basket of major currencies and ended in green at 91.85, up marginally by 0.05%.
Money Market
The US 10-year bond yield retained its gaining streak for the second straight session and closed at 1.499, up 0.91%, on June 24, 2021.
The Canada 10-year bond yield lost some grounds on Thursday and ended at 1.416, down 0.42%.
