  • DroneShield lands $32.2M in repeat contracts
  • Equipment to support vehicle and counterdrone systems
  • Growing shift from testing to large-scale deployment

DroneShield (ASX:DRO), a leading provider of drone detection and countermeasure technologies, has announced a significant milestone with a $32.2 million set of contracts from a long-standing defense customer in the Asia-Pacific region. These agreements represent five repeat orders placed by a military ally of Australia, reflecting continued confidence in the company's defense capabilities.

The latest deals, secured through an Australian reseller, will see DroneShield develop and deliver advanced systems for both vehicle-mounted and counterdrone applications. The equipment is scheduled for production and deployment throughout the second and third quarters of 2025. The reseller, according to DroneShield, is under a binding agreement to supply the systems directly to a major military department within the Asia-Pacific region.

This development builds on previous momentum. Earlier this year, DroneShield secured seven separate contracts from the same customer, totaling $12.3 million. The repeated engagements from this key regional defense client indicate an upward trend in the scale and urgency of counterdrone technology rollouts.

The company attributes this rise in order volume to a broader industry trend. Customers, particularly those operating in defense and high-security environments, are now transitioning from initial testing phases to widespread adoption of counterdrone solutions. The move points to a growing recognition of drone threats and the need for robust, integrated defense systems.

DroneShield’s proprietary technology is designed to detect, track, and neutralize unauthorized drone activity across a range of scenarios, from battlefield operations to critical infrastructure protection. The inclusion of vehicle-mounted solutions in the latest contracts highlights the expanding versatility and demand for mobile counterdrone systems in active defense zones.

The Asia-Pacific region continues to be a key growth market for security technology providers, driven by rising geopolitical tensions and increasing investments in modern military infrastructure. DroneShield’s ability to secure repeated, high-value contracts in this environment underscores its role as a trusted provider in the evolving defense landscape.

As global defense forces prioritize innovation and advanced threat mitigation, companies like DroneShield (DRO) are likely to remain central to the development and deployment of next-generation counterdrone technologies.
