Highlights

  • Major gold zone extension identified at Mt York
  • Exploration reveals fresh mineralisation in untested area
  • Plans underway for expanded drilling program

Kairos Minerals Ltd (ASX:KAI) has intersected a wide and continuous gold zone, dubbed the ‘Monster’, at its Mt York Gold Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. This exciting development comes as part of the company’s ongoing drilling program, which continues to reveal substantial extensions of the Main Trend deposit near the Main Hill prospect.

The new gold zone was uncovered during recent diamond drilling, with geological indications pointing to mineralisation in a previously unexplored fold structure. While Kairos is not part of the top ASX 100 index, its latest results are drawing strong interest from those tracking emerging gold stories in the Australian market.

A Closer Look at the ‘Monster’ Discovery

Untested Terrain Unlocks Potential

The Monster zone sits within a section of the Main Trend that had not been explored before, adding a fresh dimension to Mt York’s growing mineral endowment. Geological mapping suggests that the mineralisation is associated with fold flexures within banded iron formations, structures known for hosting high‑grade gold deposits across the region.

The current drilling campaign is part of a multi‑stage program designed to extend known mineralised shoots, refine geological models, and prepare for future development phases. So far, more than half of the planned holes have been drilled, with several producing encouraging intersections across different zones of the Main Trend.

Building Towards Resource Growth

The latest findings reinforce the prospectivity of Mt York’s three‑kilometre‑long mineralised corridor. The Monster zone complements existing zones such as Main Hill, which already boasts some of the thickest mineralised widths on the project. Additional diamond holes are planned to further define the extent of this new zone and test its continuity along strike.

Looking Ahead for Mt York

With drilling results continuing to add depth to the resource picture, Kairos plans to integrate these findings into an updated resource estimate later in the year. Stage 2 of the exploration program will aim to enhance confidence levels in certain areas while targeting near‑surface, higher‑grade shoots for potential early development opportunities.

As exploration advances, Kairos is also preparing for metallurgical test work and preliminary feasibility studies. These efforts will help shape the project’s development pathway and determine its position among Western Australia’s notable gold projects.
