  • Multiphase exploration work advances across U.S. and Peru

Firetail Resources (ASX:FTL) is strengthening its exploration momentum in the United States by expanding its Excelsior Springs gold project in Nevada. The move follows the company’s recent staking efforts that led to the identification of six new target areas within and around the current project footprint. Although Firetail is not a part of the ASX 200 stocks, its strategic developments at Excelsior Springs have captured attention among explorers focusing on Nevada’s well-known Walker Lane gold belt.

Field Program Establishes Foundation for Growth

Since acquiring Excelsior Springs in June, Firetail has fast-tracked its evaluation program with a mix of geological techniques, including mapping, geochemistry, trenching, and induced polarisation testing. These efforts led to the recognition of new structural zones and unrecognised mineral workings, including a large adit, now under further study.

A total of six key areas have been selected for detailed field-based exploration. The targets were delineated through both historical data review and new work, aiming to assess zones that have received limited prior attention. Several of these areas were highlighted during the company's due diligence, with multiple sites showing geologic characteristics consistent with gold-hosting systems in the region.

Focus on Buster and Blue Dick Trends

Significant exploration activity is underway at both the Buster and Blue Dick prospects, where field mapping, sampling, and underground surveys are being used to build a more comprehensive understanding of the mineral system. Geophysical interpretations will help refine plans for future drilling, potentially unlocking further structural targets aligned in orientations previously overlooked by historical exploration.

Within the Buster Trend, which extends several kilometres in strike, Firetail’s investigations suggest the presence of multiple mineralised corridors beyond what has traditionally been explored. These developments may broaden the project’s scope considerably.

Progress in Peru Complements U.S. Work

Parallel to its U.S. operations, Firetail has also completed the latest round of fieldwork at its copper project in Peru. Multidisciplinary exploration, including advanced geophysical surveys, was funded through a grant program. The company expects to review comprehensive results from the site in the coming weeks, which could guide further planning in South America.

As Firetail continues its multipronged approach to resource exploration, developments across Nevada and Peru mark meaningful steps in expanding its exploration portfolio across key mineral regions.
