Under the co-operation agreement, the European Investment Bank will provide technical assistance to support the development of an expansion study for the Epanko graphite project in Tanzania. The assistance is funded through the EU–OACPS Technical Assistance Facility on Critical Raw Materials. This program supports initiatives aligned with the European Union’s Critical Raw Materials framework, which aims to strengthen secure and responsible sourcing of essential materials for clean energy technologies.
The collaboration underscores the strategic importance of EcoGraf’s TanzGraphite business within broader efforts to establish resilient battery mineral supply chains beyond traditional markets.

The latest milestone follows site engagement in Tanzania and a presentation at a European industry showcase in Brussels, where EcoGraf highlighted its vertically integrated graphite development model. EcoGraf has completed engineering studies for the first stage of a planned midstream mechanical shaping facility in Ifakara, located near the Epanko project.
