Highlights
- Multiple high-grade gold zones intersected at Kamperman Deposit, part of Feysville Gold Project
- Notable diamond drill results include intercepts with grades up to 51.8 g/t gold
- Mandilla Gold Project Pre-Feasibility Study and updated MRE nearing completion
Astral Resources NL (ASX:AAR) has identified significant high-grade gold mineralisation at the Kamperman Deposit, located within the wholly owned Feysville Gold Project near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. The discovery follows a recently completed three-hole diamond drilling campaign, with assay results confirming robust gold grades across all drill holes.
Kamperman currently hosts a Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) of 2 million tonnes at 1.3 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold for 84,000 ounces. The deposit is being positioned as a satellite development opportunity with strategic potential to contribute to the broader Mandilla Gold Project, which is in the advanced stages of a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS), anticipated for completion in the June quarter.
Recent drilling was aimed at deepening the understanding of structural controls influencing the mineralisation and collecting critical samples for metallurgical testing. The results from the three diamond drill holes—FRCD395, FRCD396, and FRCD397A—returned consistently high-grade intercepts that strengthen the geological model and resource confidence.
Standout intercepts from the latest campaign include:
- 20.5 metres at 3.61 g/t gold from 19.8 metres depth, with a high-grade zone of 0.6 metres at 25.9 g/t, and another intersection of 18.8 metres at 2.07 g/t from 72.2 metres, amounting to 112.6 gram-metres
- 10 metres at 13.5 g/t gold from 62.3 metres, including 2.5 metres at 51.8 g/t, totalling 149.2 gram-metres
- 20.8 metres at 2.15 g/t gold from 120 metres depth, with 3 metres at 26.6 g/t gold from 148.8 metres, returning 138.2 gram-metres
All three drill holes intersected substantial zones of high-grade gold. Drill holes FRCD395 and FRCD396 verified the presence of anticipated mineralised zones, further validating previous exploration data, while FRCD397A offered new metallurgical data and revealed an unmodelled high-grade intercept at depth within a silicified porphyry.
These results reaffirm the continuity of gold mineralisation in key zones previously drilled. FRCD395 and FRCD396 were designed as twin holes to earlier high-grade intercepts, successfully confirming consistency in both width and grade. Meanwhile, FRCD397A not only delivered metallurgical samples from the southern lode but also discovered an unexpected high-grade interval not previously accounted for in existing geological models.
Assay results remain pending from a recently completed 265-hole air-core drilling campaign across Feysville, with an additional 46-hole reverse circulation (RC) drilling program currently underway. The RC campaign includes infill and extensional drilling around the Kamperman Deposit as well as broader regional exploration focused on following up historic high-grade gold intercepts across Astral’s extensive tenement portfolio.
The exploration activity at Kamperman continues to enhance its strategic relevance within the broader Mandilla Gold Project. The anticipated contribution of Kamperman to Mandilla’s economic evaluation in the upcoming PFS remains a key area of focus as Astral progresses toward resource optimisation and project development.
Alongside its exploration and resource definition initiatives, Astral Resources has formally extended the offer period for its off-market takeover bid for Maximus Resources Ltd (ASX:MXR). A formal notice under section 650D of the Corporations Act 2001 was lodged with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, confirming the extended timeframe for the proposed acquisition.
The Kamperman drilling outcomes, ongoing resource updates at Mandilla, and strategic corporate developments underscore Astral Resources’ active positioning within Western Australia’s gold exploration and development landscape.
