Key pointers from ASX closing today
- Liontown Resources Ltd (ASX:LTR) and Whitehaven Coal Ltd (ASX:WHC) gained the most on the ASX today, moving ahead by 4.31% and 3.54%, respectively.
- Nanosonics Limited (ASX:NAN) and Healius Limited (ASX:HLS) fell 11.79% and 5.12%, respectively.
- Over the last five days, the index is virtually unchanged, but is down 4.04% for the last year to date.

Brookside Energy (ASX:BRK): After encountering an over-pressured zone, Brookside Energy (BRK) has ceased operations at its Juanita Well in Oklahoma, according to an ASX filing.
The well was spudded earlier this month and is located in the company's Bradbury area of interest in Oklahoma's Ardmore Basin.
Iceni Gold (ASX:ICL): When Iceni Gold (ICL), a junior explorer, found a "significant" trend of gold nuggets at its 14 Mile Well property in Washington, its stock price soared.
The project's Guyer target area has high-purity gold nuggets that are connected with an ultrafine (UFF+) gold anomaly, according to a report released by the company on Monday. The nugget trend extends over a distance of several kilometres.

Global markets
This morning, investors followed similar patterns seen in the US on Friday when the Federal Reserve indicated that a modest interest rate increase next month was not a given.
The S&P 500 gained 0.48% to 3,965.34. The Dow Jones was 0.59% up to 33,745.69. The NASDAQ Composite increased merely by 0.0099% to 11,146.06, and the small-cap Russell 2000 climbed by 0.58% to 1,849.73.
In Asia, Nikkei in Japan gained 0.032% while the Asia Dow was 0.11% down, the Hang Seng in Hong Kong lost 2.24% and Shanghai Composite in China decreased by 0.85% at 4.05 PM AEDT.
Bond yields
Australia’s 10-year bond yield stands at 3.59% as of 4.13 PM AEDT.
In commodities markets
Crude Oil WTI was spotted trading at US$79.01/bbl, while brent was at US$86.58/bbl at 4.14 PM AEDT.
Gold was at US$1746.21 an ounce, copper was at US$3.61/Lbs, and iron ore was at US$99.50/T at 4.14 PM AEDT.
