Key pointers from the ASX closing today
- Nanosonics Ltd (ASX:NAN) and Ramelius Resources Limited (ASX:RMS) gained the most on the index, moving ahead 11.18% and 7.51%, respectively.
- Allkem Limited (ASX:AKE) and Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX:PLS) fell 8.33% and 6.49% respectively.
- Over the last five days, the index has gained 1.51%, but is down 2.49% for the last year to date.
- Nine out of 11 sectors closed in the green today.

Newsmakers
Peninsula Energy (ASX:PEN): The AU$32 million placement by Peninsula Energy to restart uranium production at the Lance assets in the US state of Wyoming is now completed, according to an ASX filing.
To raise the money, the company sold about 244.3 million shares at a discount of 15.5% (13.1 cents per share) to its closing price on November 23 to new and existing institutional and sophisticated investors.
Morella Corporation (ASX:1MC): Following deep ground penetrating radar work, Morella Corporation has discovered new pegmatites at the Mt Edon tenements in Western Australia, the company said in an ASX filing.
Two tenements owned by Sayona Mining, Mt Edon and Mt Edon West, make up the project.

This week's holiday spirit in the US spread like wildfire, pushing stock benchmarks in Europe and Australia reach multi-month highs. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index finished the day up 0.46%, marking its best performance in four months.
In Asia, the Asia Dow was 0.90% up, Shanghai Composite in China increased by 0.39% while Nikkei in Japan lost 0.35%, the Hang Seng in Hong Kong was 0.86% down at 4.00 PM AEDT.

Commodities markets
Crude Oil WTI was spotted trading at US$78.34/bbl, while brent was at US$85.78/bbl at 4.02 PM AEDT.
Gold was at US$1758.43 an ounce, copper was at US$3.64/Lbs, and iron ore was at US$99.00/T at 4.02 PM AEDT.
