Graphite Explorer and Developer, Volt Resources’ Key Personnel Summary

Australian-based, Volt Resources Ltd (ASX: VRC) is a graphite exploration and development company currently expediting the advancement of its flagship asset, Bunyu Graphite Project (100%-owned), located in south-east Tanzania, towards near-term production, while also actively evaluating further prospective deposits worldwide, to add increased value to the shareholders.

A Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) into the development of the Bunyu Graphite Project was completed in December 2016, suggesting a two-staged pathway and demonstrating strong technical and financial viability with a Mineral Resource Estimate (JORC 2012) of 461Mt @ 4.9% TGC, which is apparently largest graphite Mineral Resource in all of Tanzania. A Feasibility Study (FS) into the development of Stage 1 was then completed in July 2018.

The company is actively advancing funding activities for supporting Stage 1 that is estimated to require USD 40 million (Development cost: USD 31.8 million; Resettlement compensation: USD 3.5 million).

Mr Kabunga is an Australian entrepreneur with more than 20 years of technical and commercial experience acquired from working in logistics, land access, tenure negotiation and acquisition, mining industries and also in the development of technology businesses across Tanzania, Australia as well as the United States of America.

He was the first President of the Tanzania Community of Western Australia Inc and was largely instrumental in its establishment. He also co-founded child NGOs, including Rafiki Surgical Missions and Safina Foundation in Tanzania.

He is also a current director (Chairman) at Lindian Resources Limited and was a former director at Strandline Resources Limited.

Mr Hunt has 25 years of rich experience in the marketing of steel and mineral products in the global markets. During his career so far, he has worked for 15 years with BHP Billiton Ltd including five years at BHP’s office in London, UK, where he marketed minerals to clients in the Europe and Middle Eastern countries. He also established his own minerals trading company focussed on China.

In addition to that, his cumulative board experience includes working for 15 years with ASX limited companies. Mr Hunt was also one of the founding directors of Magnis Resources Limited.

His other current engagements include directorship at American Pacific Borate and Lithium Limited.

  • Mr Giacomo (Jack) Fazio, Non-Executive Director

During his career, Mr Fazio worked extensively in the project, construction and contract/commercial management areas including a senior project management role at Primero Group Limited, Laing O’Rourke and Forge Group Ltd. He was a part of mining, infrastructure, oil & gas and energy projects from feasibility studies to commissioning.

With an accounting and finance background, Mr Matthews holds more than 25 years of experience in the resources industry during which he served executive-level roles with North and WMC Resources. He was most recently MD at MZI Resources 2012-16 and at Murchison Metals 2005-11. During his career, Mr Matthews was a part of several nascent resource projects, progressing them to production.

As a result, he has a deep understanding of working on feasibility studies, project planning, coordination and effectively securing the right mix of debt/equity funding, to support the projects.

One of his noteworthy achievements includes overseeing an exploration company (Market cap: $ 2 billion) into production, which was especially recognised by Volt Resources as it would be valuable to the company as it advances it’s Namangale Project into production.

Qualification: Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance), Chartered Accountant

Ms Hunter holds 25 years of experience in the corporate finance industry, having worked with ASX, AIM and TSX listed companies. She is a founder and current Managing Director at Hunter Corporate Pty Ltd, while she also served senior management roles at E&Y, PwC and Bankwest.

Stock Performance

Volt Resources’ market cap stands at ~AUD 16.05 million and ~ 1.61 billion shares outstanding. On 4 October 2019, the VRC stock closed the day’s session at AUD 0.011, climbing up 10% by AUD 0.001 with ~ 909,027 shares traded.
