Olympio Metals reports visible gold in maiden drillhole at Bousquet Gold Project
First drilling confirms mineralised zone extension at the Paquin prospect
Additional drillholes underway to explore the western extension target
Olympio Metals Ltd (ASX:OLY), listed on the All Ordinaries, has advanced sharply following confirmation of visible gold in the initial drillhole of its maiden drilling program at the Bousquet Gold Project in Québec, Canada. The program marks a significant exploration phase for the company’s international gold assets, complementing its domestic critical mineral interests.
The observed mineralisation was encountered in drillhole BO-25-27 at the Paquin prospect and aligns with prior geological indications of gold-bearing quartz veining across the project site.
Drilling at Paquin Prospect Delivers Encouraging Visual Results
The Bousquet Gold Project’s current diamond drilling campaign spans several thousand metres, with drillhole BO-25-27 intersecting a smoky quartz vein hosting visible gold within a broader zone of mineralised rock. According to the company, smoky quartz has historically been a reliable indicator of gold mineralisation throughout the project area.
Olympio Metals confirmed that this early intersection suggests the gold system extends westward from previously mapped zones. The initial findings are undergoing priority logging and sampling ahead of lab assay submissions. Results are expected to be returned in the coming weeks.
Follow-up Drilling Commences to Map Western Continuation
Drilling activity is continuing at the Paquin prospect, with a focus on testing the western extension of the mineralised structure. Three additional holes are planned in this area, aimed at refining the geological model and identifying consistent mineralisation trends.
The Bousquet site is strategically located near multi-million-ounce gold deposits, situated along the well-known Cadillac Break. Its infrastructure advantages support all-season access for exploration work, enhancing efficiency and cost-effectiveness for drilling crews.
Bousquet Complements Olympio’s Broader Gold Strategy
The Bousquet Gold Project is considered a key asset within Olympio’s expanding portfolio, which also includes the nearby Dufay Gold-Copper Project. Both projects are aligned along the Cadillac Break and present numerous structural targets that remain underexplored.
Olympio Metals has highlighted the region’s rich history of gold production and favourable geological formations, with several prospects still untested by modern techniques or drill programs.
