American Rare Earths secures institutional placement to advance its US-based rare earths project
Capital raised to fund demonstration plant, drilling, and engineering programs
Leadership shifts reflect strategic emphasis on accelerating operations in the United States
American Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:ARR), listed on the All Ordinaries index, has announced a strategic capital raise to accelerate development activities at its Halleck Creek Rare Earths Project in Wyoming. The project is positioned as one of the largest rare earth deposits in the United States and is central to the company’s goal of becoming a key domestic supplier to the US magnet sector.
The company confirmed firm commitments for a placement, supported by both existing backers and new institutions. The proceeds are earmarked for fast-tracking the construction of a demonstration plant and advancing multiple on-ground development activities.
Strategic Use of Capital to Bolster US Operations
The capital injection will fund construction of a demonstration plant to support beneficiation processes at Halleck Creek. Additionally, American Rare Earths plans to commence in-fill drilling at the Cowboy State Mine to enhance future technical assessments beyond the Pre-Feasibility Study.
Funds will also be directed towards engineering and optimisation activities, contributing to the broader roadmap of bringing a rare earth mine into domestic production. These developments are aligned with national interests in diversifying supply chains for rare earth materials.
Leadership Changes Reflect US-Centric Project Emphasis
Following the recent resignation of Managing Director and CEO Chris Gibbs, the company has transitioned oversight of its Australian operations to CFO Megan McPherson. This internal shift reinforces a strategic focus on its expanding US footprint.
In the United States, operational leadership continues under Joe Evers, President of Wyoming Rare (USA) Inc., who remains responsible for the rollout of project milestones. These include progressing test mining operations, overseeing processing optimisation, and preparing the publication of the Pre-Feasibility Study.
Development Milestones and Engineering Initiatives Underway
American Rare Earths is already implementing key project phases. Equipment with long manufacturing lead times has been secured, enabling efficient construction workflows. Test mining at Cowboy State Mine is expected to produce bulk ore samples that will be instrumental for processing trials and demonstration plant feedstock.
In parallel, the company is progressing with environmental and water studies while preparing to submit a permit-to-mine application. These initiatives are integral to advancing the timeline for demonstration plant development and further cement the company’s role in building rare earth infrastructure in the United States.
