Melbourne midfielder Tom Sparrow has been banned for the Demons' clash with Port Adelaide over a dangerous tackle, while North Melbourne key defender Aidan Corr has received a one-match suspension for striking.

Carlton skipper and reigning Brownlow medallist Patrick Cripps can accept a $1000 fine for misconduct on Western Bulldogs midfielder Bailey Smith, believed to be for pulling the 22-year-old's mullet.

Sparrow was cited for a fourth-quarter sling tackle on Hawthorn's Will Day in Melbourne's 54-point win on Saturday.

The midfielder was charged with rough conduct, with the incident assessed as medium impact, careless conduct and high contact.

The one-match suspension rules Sparrow out of Friday's monster clash at the Adelaide Oval, unless the Demons successfully appeal it at the AFL tribunal.

North's Corr was reported for striking Port Adelaide youngster Ollie Lord at Blundstone Arena on Saturday.

Corr and Lord were pushing and shoving when the Kangaroos defender grabbed the Power forward's jumper with his left hand and struck his opponent in the jaw with his right.

The brain snap resulted in Corr immediately being reported for striking, while a free kick to North was reversed and Jed McEntee dobbed Port's second goal.

Match review officer Michael Christian assessed the incident as high contact, intentional conduct and low impact, drawing a one-match ban and ruling Corr out of the Kangaroos' clash with under-fire Sydney at Marvel Stadium on Saturday.

Fellow Kangaroo Cameron Zurhaar can accept a $2000 fine for rough conduct on former teammate Jason Horne-Francis.

Sydney's Nick Blakey received a $2000 fine for striking Fremantle's Josh Treacy, with the incident assessed as low impact, high contact and careless conduct.

Hawthorn's Lloyd Meek can accept a $3000 fine for kneeing Melbourne skipper Max Gawn while teammate Sam Butler received a $2000 fine for striking Michael Hibberd.

Brisbane ruckman Oscar McInerney received a $1000 fine for tripping Essendon's Jye Caldwell.
