Highlights

  • 15,000m Drill Program Begins: Patriot Battery Metals (TSX:PMET) has commenced its 2025 winter drill program at the Shaakichiuwaanaan Property in Quebec.
  • Resource Expansion Focus: Drilling targets include the high-grade Vega Zone, the CV13-to-CV5 pegmatite corridor, and condemnation drilling for feasibility study support.
  • Feasibility Study on Track: The company aims to deliver a Feasibility Study and maiden Ore Reserve Estimate by Q3 2025.

Patriot Battery Metals Inc. (TSX:PMET, ASX:PMT, OTCQX:PMETF, FSE:R9GA) has launched its 2025 winter drill program at the Shaakichiuwaanaan Property in Quebec’s Eeyou Istchee James Bay region. This ambitious program, which began in late January and will run until mid-April, aims to further define and expand the company’s lithium resources.

The property hosts a Mineral Resource Estimate of 80.1 Mt at 1.44% Li₂O (Indicated) and 62.5 Mt at 1.31% Li₂O (Inferred), with its key CV5 Spodumene Pegmatite strategically located 14 km from a major hydroelectric power corridor.

Drilling Objectives: Expanding Key Lithium Zones

Patriot’s 15,000m NQ coring program focuses on three key objectives:

  1. Expanding the Vega Zone – Drilling will extend this high-grade lithium zone westward toward the CV12 Pegmatite, following an interpreted structural corridor.
  2. Testing the CV13 to CV5 Pegmatite Corridor – A priority <3 km corridor between these spodumene pegmatites remains largely untested.
  3. Condemnation Drilling for Feasibility Study – Two drill rigs will assess the proposed waste rock pile sites north of CV5, ensuring no economically significant mineralization is present before infrastructure development.

Operational and Partnership Developments

Two drill rigs have already commenced operations, while two additional rigs will start condemnation drilling in February. The program is supported by a mix of all-season and winter roads, ensuring continuous ground operations.

Forage Construction Muskw Inc. ("Muskw"), a Cree-owned drilling services provider, has been contracted for the program. Muskw, a joint venture between Forage Fusion Drilling and Saskounan Construction, was established in 2024, reinforcing Patriot’s commitment to Indigenous partnerships.

Feasibility Study and Resource Estimate Updates

Patriot remains on track to release its Feasibility Study and maiden Ore Reserve Estimate in Q3 2025, alongside an updated Mineral Resource Estimate. Additionally, results from 98 drill holes (31,513m) at CV5, completed in fall 2024, are expected to be reported in the coming weeks, along with findings from the 2024 summer surface field program.
