Description
Erdene Resource Development Corp (OTC:ERDCF) has provided an important update on its Bayan Khundii Gold Project, which is currently under construction. The latest results from shallow drilling in the initial mining areas affirm the high-grade nature of the deposit, aligning well with the established reserve model.
The first phase of ore control drilling yielded impressive results, including 3 metres at 70.61 g/t gold, with a standout 1 metre at 198 g/t within that interval. Additional drill holes returned 3 metres at 33.29 g/t gold, including 1 metre at 99 g/t, and another hole intersected 4 metres at 21.7 g/t, featuring 2 metres at 41.55 g/t. These high-grade results underscore the quality of the ore in the initial mining areas.
Erdene has also completed exploration drilling around the periphery of the economic pit, with results expected in the near future. In preparation for the upcoming mining phase, the company plans to initiate a 13,500-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling program aimed at refining the mine plan.
In addition to its technical advancements, Erdene is committed to community engagement. The company has successfully hired and trained approximately 90 equipment operators from the local Bayankhongor province, ensuring local participation in the project’s operations.
The initial focus will be on the Bayan Khundii pit, with plans for a satellite pit at the Dark Horse Mane deposit expected to commence in the third year of operations. Erdene aims for an annual production rate of 650,000 tonnes of ore, with an average gold grade of 4 g/t, anticipating the production of 86,900 ounces of gold annually during peak production years. This strategic approach positions Erdene for successful mining operations in the coming years.
