CleanTech Lithium PLC, operating in the Metal & Mining sector, reported receiving strong community support for its Laguna Verde lithium project during a recent seminar held by the Centre for Copper and Mining Studies (CESCO) in Santiago, Chile. The event gathered key stakeholders to discuss the future of the lithium industry in the country, highlighting CleanTech Lithium's engagement with local communities and stakeholders.

Community Engagement and Support

At the seminar, Ercilia Araya, President of the Colla Pai-Ote indigenous community, expressed support for CleanTech Lithium's Laguna Verde project. She emphasized the importance of building strong relationships between companies and communities, noting that CleanTech Lithium (OTC:CTLHF) 's approach aligns with the community’s vision. Araya highlighted the company’s commitment to ensuring proper consultation and participation in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process, which is crucial for the project's development.

Araya's remarks underscore the significance of community involvement in the project, stating, "When CleanTech arrived, they explained how they would carry out the process, building together with us the information collection for submission of the EIA. That is our dream. The dream of being able to participate, to be consulted." Her comments reflect a broader aspiration for meaningful engagement and collaboration between CleanTech Lithium and the local indigenous community.

CleanTech Lithium's Vision for Laguna Verde

CleanTech Lithium's chief executive, Steve Kesler, also addressed the seminar, affirming the company’s dedication to community collaboration and sustainable project development. Kesler expressed optimism about the project's timeline, stating, "We are very well placed to be one of the projects that the Government aims to have operational by 2026.” He added that the Laguna Verde project is well-positioned to commence operations within the earliest possible timeframe, highlighting the importance of the partnership with the indigenous community.

Kesler emphasized that the support of the Colla Pai-Ote community provides a rare and valuable partnership, which is expected to facilitate the mutually beneficial development of the Laguna Verde project. This collaboration is seen as a critical component of the project's strategy, as it aims to integrate community perspectives into the development process, ensuring that local voices are heard and considered.

Future Prospects and Community Relations

The Laguna Verde lithium project is considered one of the most promising new lithium ventures in Chile, with CleanTech Lithium prioritizing community involvement and environmental responsibility as key pillars of its strategy. The company's commitment to engaging with local stakeholders, particularly the Colla Pai-Ote indigenous community, is central to its approach in navigating the regulatory and environmental landscape in Chile.

The recent expressions of support at the CESCO seminar illustrate CleanTech Lithium's efforts to foster a collaborative environment with local communities, aiming to create a sustainable and inclusive path forward for the Laguna Verde project. By focusing on transparent communication and active participation in the EIA process, CleanTech Lithium seeks to ensure that the project aligns with the broader goals of community members and stakeholders alike.

CleanTech Lithium's proactive approach to community engagement not only supports the project's development but also aligns with broader industry trends towards sustainable and community-centered resource extraction. As the lithium industry continues to expand in response to growing demand for electric vehicles and renewable energy storage solutions, projects like Laguna Verde are poised to play a crucial role in meeting these needs while balancing environmental and community considerations.
