The company has initiated a therapeutic program aimed at developing BP1001-A for the treatment of obesity and related metabolic diseases. This represents the first non-cancer application of Bio-Path's proprietary DNAbilize® technology, showcasing the versatility of their platform.

Additionally, Bio-Path has completed enrollment for the third dosing cohort in its ongoing Phase 1/1b clinical trial evaluating BP1002 in patients with refractory/relapsed acute myeloid leukemia (AML), which includes those resistant to venetoclax. This rapid enrollment reflects the urgent need for innovative treatment options in the AML patient population.

Looking ahead, Bio-Path anticipates beginning preclinical studies for BP1001-A in the fourth quarter of 2024, with a focus on targeting insulin resistance.
