3 Alcohol Stocks To Explore On Wall Street

However, with the launch of vaccines and gradual lifting of restrictions this year, hopes are high for this industry.

Here, we explore shares of three companies: Willamette Valley Vineyards, Inc. (NASDAQ:WVVI), Constellation Brands Inc (NYSE:STZ), and Boston Beer Company, Inc. (NYSE:SAM) - that gave a strong performance on Wall Street.

Willamette Valley Vineyards, Inc.

Willamette Valley Vineyards is a premium wine maker based in Oregon. The company’s wines include Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Riesling.

Shares of Willamette Valley Vineyards are performing well on NASDAQ. The share price more than doubled in the four months. The stock is up 106 percent year to date.

Willamette has a market capitalization of US$65 million and its share rallied to its 52 week high of US$16.54 on April 29.

In 2020, Willamette recorded net sales revenues of US$27.3 million. The figure represents a 10.4 percent year over year.

The company increased its revenue from direct sales and sales to distributors by 11.3 percent and 9.8 percent respectively.

Willamette Valley Vineyards’ EPS after preferred dividends grew 53.5 percent to 46 cents from 30 cents in 2019.

The company pays an annual dividend of 22 cents.

Boston Beer Inc.

Boston Beer makes beers, hard seltzer and hard cider. The company’s brands include Truly Hard Seltzer, Twisted Tea, Angry Orchard Hard Cider and Dogfish Head Brewery as well as other craft beer brands.

Boston Beer’s stock price has grown 23 percent year to date. The shares recently hit its 52 week high of US$1,349.98.  Boston Beer has a market capitalization of US$14.95 billion.

The company saw its net revenue jump 64.9 percent year over year in the first quarter of 2021 ended March 31 to US$545.1 million.

Net income during period soared to US$65.6 million, or US$5.26 per share, from US$18.2 million, or US$1.49 per share, in the year-ago period.

Constellation Brands

Constellation Brands is multinational company based in New York, which makes beer, wine and spirits.

The company’s portfolio of beer brands includes Corona Extra, Corona Light, Modelo Especial and others. Wine and spirits brands include Meiomi and Robert Mondavi.

Constellation Brands has a market capitalization of US$46.54 billion. Its shares rallied to its 52-week high of US$243.44 last week. The share price has increased around 10 percent this year.

In the fiscal year 2021 ended February 28, Constellation Brands’ net sales increased 3 percent year over year to US$8.62 billion.

The company net income per share came in at US$9.97 on a comparable basis, up 9 percent year over year.

Constellation also declared a quarterly cash dividend of 76 cents per class A share and 69 cents per class B common stock.
