  • IVERIC bio, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISEE) gained 62.49% on Friday. The YTD gain is 104.34%.
  • Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) declined 3.31% at the market close. It increased by 12.27% YTD.
  • Endo International (NASDAQ:ENDP) gained 32.86% on Friday¸ but fell 61.14% YTD.                    

On Friday, the NASDAQ Composite Index fell 0.87%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average shed 0.78%. Here are some of the top volume movers that grabbed investors’ attention. 

IVERIC bio, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISEE)

The New York-based ISEE is a biopharmaceutical company and develops drugs for eye diseases. The stock closed at US$14.12, up 62.49%, from the previous close.

The stock jumped after announcing its participation at the H.C. Wainwright 23rd Annual Global Investment Conference from Sep 13-15. Its trading volume was around 136.59 million.

It has a market cap of US$1.47 billion. It earned no revenue in the June quarter of 2021, and the net loss was US$30 million. Its cash and equivalents were US$50.36 million as of June 30, 2021.

The stock gained 104.34% YTD.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) 

Stocks of the California-based technology company declined after a US federal judge ruled that it needs to ease payment rules for its app store so that customers can use other payment modes besides Apple’s payment system. The stock fell 3.31% to US$148.97 at the market close.

The company booked a net income of US$21.74 billion and revenue of US$81.43 billion in the quarter ended June 26, 2021. Its market capitalization is US$2.58 trillion.

The share volume was around 125.51 million on Friday. The stock rose 12.27% YTD.

Endo International plc (NASDAQ:ENDP)

Endo International is a pharmaceutical company situated in Dublin, Ireland. It is focused on pain management, orthopedics, and bariatrics. The stock closed at US$2.79, up 32.86% from the previous session, on Friday. The share volume was around 110,47 million.

The stock jumped on the news that it settled the ongoing cases at the Suffolk County Supreme Court. The company has a market capitalization of US$651 million. Its revenue was US$714 million and net loss was US$15.5 million for the June quarter of 2021.

The stock rose 61.14% YTD.

Zynga Inc. (NASDAQ:ZNGA)

Zynga is a technology company based in San Francisco, California. It develops mobile phone games. The company has a market capitalization of US$9.6 billion.

The stock closed at US$8.80, up 6.28%, on Friday. The share volume was around 47,62 million.

The company earned revenue of US$720 million and net income of US$27.8 million in the June quarter of 2021. The stock fell 10.84% YTD.

American Airlines Group Inc. (NASDAQ:AAL) 

It is one of the world’s largest airlines companies. The Fort Worth, Texas-based company has a market capitalization of US$12.27 billion. Its dividend yield is 1.98%.

The stock saw investors’ interest today. Although it fell 6.19% to US$18.95 at the close, the trading volume was around 46.53 million.

Its revenue was US$7.48 billion and net income was US$19 million in the June quarter this year. The stock gained 20.16% YTD.

Bottomline 

The benchmark stock indices retreated on Friday on mixed cues ahead of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack in the US Saturday. Investors kept away from risky bets after the latest economic data showed inflation climbed marginally in August.
