Arrow Exploration Corp (LSE:AXL) has announced impressive initial production results from its latest horizontal well, the CNB HZ-5, located at the Carrizales Norte project. The well is flowing at over 2,700 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) gross, translating to approximately 1,350 BOPD net to Arrow.
With this new addition, Arrow’s total production has reached around 5,835 barrels of oil equivalent per day, significantly bolstered by the output from recent horizontal drilling. The CNB HZ-5 is Arrow’s fourth horizontal well in the area, which is expected to have a rapid payback period of about two months, similar to the previous three wells.
Continued Growth and Development Plans
Looking ahead, Arrow Exploration is planning to drill two additional horizontal wells before the end of the year, which are expected to contribute further to production growth. CEO Marshall Abbott expressed optimism about the performance of the horizontal wells at the CNB pad, noting that they have consistently exceeded expectations.
For the remainder of 2024, Arrow will focus on completing its six-well horizontal program at Carrizales Norte, as well as pursuing a low-risk exploration well at the Baquiano prospect. The company has initiated planning and construction of roads and pads in the Tapir block to expedite its 2025 capital program, which will likely include drilling low-risk exploration wells at Mateguafa Oeste, Capullo, and Mateguafa Attic.
In 2025, Arrow intends to advance further horizontal Ubaque and vertical C7 development drilling at Carrizales Norte, alongside activities at Baquiano. Additionally, the company plans to commence further vertical development drilling at Rio Cravo Este at the end of 2024, continuing into 2025 with the deployment of a second drilling rig.
Enhanced Drilling Metrics
Arrow Exploration has been improving its drilling metrics for both horizontal and vertical wells, employing internally developed strategies for drilling and completion. This approach has been instrumental in maximizing efficiency and output.
As Arrow Exploration continues to expand its operations and enhance production capabilities, it remains well-positioned for ongoing growth within the energy sector.
