US Markets: Broader indices in the United States traded on a mixed note - particularly, the S&P 500 index traded 0.48 points or 0.02 per cent lower at 3,113.01, Dow Jones Industrial Average Index contracted by 34.63 points or 0.13 per cent lower at 26,084.98, and the technology benchmark index Nasdaq Composite traded higher at 9,933.03, up by 22.50 points or 0.23 per cent against its previous day close (at the time of writing, before the U.S market close at 11:30 AM ET).
US News: The Wallstreet retreated and had a choppy session today as jobless claims remained elevated, while there is a spike in COVID-19 cases. The unemployment claims reported as 1.51 million last week (ended 13th June 2020). Meanwhile, the US showed dissent regarding the imposition of digital service tax. Meanwhile, US Crude futures gained 0.7 per cent to USD 38.22 per barrel. Among the gaining stocks, ABM rose about 9.1 per cent after posting robust second-quarter results. Similarly, the 1-800 Flowers surged 5.5 per cent post raising its full-year guidance. Among the decliners, Kroger fell around 3.9 per cent after pulling its guidance for the remainder of the year. The JD.com slipped around 2.6 per cent after embarking in the Hong Kong market. Hertz dropped 5.0 per cent after suspending its USD 500 million share selling plan.

Top Performers*: Waters Corp (WAT), DISH Network Corp (DISH), and Mylan NV (MYL) stocks jumped by 6.27 per cent, 5.58 per cent and 3.69 per cent, respectively.
Non Performers*: Biogen Inc (BIIB), Alliance Data Systems Corp (ADS) and Arista Networks Inc (ANET) shares decreased by 5.14 per cent, 3.28 per cent and 3.11 per cent, respectively.
NASDAQ Composite (IXIC)
Top Performers*: Farmmi Inc (FAMI), Hudson Capital Inc (HUSN) and Alpine Immune Sciences Inc (ALPN) shares expanded by 117.58 per cent, 113.84 per cent and 111.50 per cent, respectively.
Worst Performers*: Globus Maritime Ltd (GLBS), Art’s Way Manufacturing Co Inc (ARTW) and Highway Holdings Ltd (HIHO) shares plunged by 45.58 per cent, 33.58 per cent and 26.01 per cent, respectively.

European Markets: The London’s broader equity benchmark index FTSE 100 traded at 29.18 points or 0.47 per cent lower at 6,224.07, the FTSE 250 index snapped at 64.10 points or 0.37 per cent lower at 17,518.26, and the FTSE All-Share Index ended 15.05 points or 0.43 per cent lower at 3,449.45, respectively. Another European index STOXX 600 ended down by 3.75 points or 1.02 per cent, at 362.27. Among other major European indices, DAX index closed the session at 12,281.53, down by 100.61 points or 0.81 per cent; CAC 40 index decreased by 37.22 points or 0.75 per cent and ended the trading session at 4,958.75.
European News: London and European markets dipped on apprehensions regarding the second wave of coronavirus. Meanwhile, the Bank of England raised its bond-buying programme from GBP 645 billion to GBP 745 billion. Among the gainers, Tesco rose around 0.6 per cent as it plans to sell its Polish division for GBP 181 million. Novacyt surged around 8.3 per cent post launching new products for COVID-19 testing. CareTech gained over 6 per cent after delivering robust performance in H1 FY20 results. SSE rose about 1.2 per cent post releasing its preliminary results for FY20. Among the declining stocks, Taylor Wimpey lost around 4.9 per cent post selling 355 million new shares. BP shed about 1.6 per cent after raising approximately USD 12 billion in the hybrid bond issue.
