UK Market: The UK market started the week in an upbeat mood on Tuesday but couldn't maintain the gains till noon. Traders returning from the UK bank holiday that marked Queen Elizabeth's funeral exercised caution as they focused on the interest rate hikes expected to be announced this week. At around 1:30 pm GMT+1, the FTSE 100 was down by more than 0.30%, while the FTSE 250 was trading over 1.3% lower. There are expectations that the Bank of England will raise the interest rates again by 50 bps this week.

Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO): Shares of the grocery technology provider tumbled over 8% during the day, hitting an intra-day low of GBX 611.20. It had closed at GBX 671.00 in the previous session.
 
Kingfisher PLC (LON:KGF): Shares of the multinational home improvement company slipped over 5% after it reported its latest numbers for the six months ended 31 July 2022. The firm reported a loss in sales and profits but said that it has been in line with expectations.
 
Frasers Group PLC (LON:FRAS): Shares of the retail and intellectual property group fell over 2% after it announced that the company's chief executive Mike Ashley will step down from the Board.

US Markets: The US market is likely to start in the green, as indicated by the futures indices. S&P 500 future was up by 26.56 points or 0.69% at 3,899.89, while the Dow Jones 30 future was up by 0.64% or 197.26 points at 31,019.68. The technology-heavy index Nasdaq Composite future was also up by 0.76% or 86.62 points, at 11,5335.02. (At the time of writing – 9:07 am ET).

US Market News:

Shares of automaker Ford (F) slumped 4.5% in the premarket trading session after it issued a warning that a shortage of parts and increased supplier costs would result in a US$1 billion hit in its quarterly earnings.

Shares of the vaccine maker Moderna (MRNA) slid 2.1% in the premarket trading session amid President Joe Biden's recent remark claiming that the COVID-19 pandemic is now over.
