US Markets: Broader indices in the United States traded in green - particularly, the S&P 500 index traded 22.07 points or 0.51 per cent higher at 4,374.70, Dow Jones Industrial Average Index surged by 205.70 points or 0.60 per cent higher at 34,505.69, and the technology benchmark index Nasdaq Composite traded higher at 14,572.70, up by 26.00 points or 0.18 per cent against the previous day close (at the time of writing – 11:45 AM ET).
US Market News: The major indices of Wall Street traded in a green zone after making heavy losses in the previous trading session. Among the gaining stocks, Dollar Tree (DLTR) shares climbed by around 15.99% after the Company had increased share repurchase authorization by USD 1.05 billion. Lucid Group (LCID) shares surged by around 9.56% after the Company planned to launch its first electric luxury sedans in late October 2021. Netflix (NFLX) shares grew by around 4.21% after the Company planned to diversify the revenue sources through the acquisition of videogame maker Night School Studio. Among the declining stocks, Micron Technology (MU) shares fell by around 0.51% after the Company’s current quarter revenue fell short of the consensus estimates.
UK Market News: The London markets traded in a green zone with FTSE 100 pushed up by the financials stocks. Moreover, the new mortgage approvals had witnessed a marginal drop to 74,453 during August 2021, as the stamp duty holiday would end very soon.
AstraZeneca shares surged by about 4.27% after the Company’s Alexion unit had exercised the option to acquire all remaining equity in Caelum Biosciences for CAEL-101.
Are Global Markets on recovery mode?
Unilever shares went up by around 1.12% amid the media reports that the Company had shortlisted four potential buyers regarding the sale of tea unit for an approximate consideration of 4 billion pounds.
Network International Holdings had completed the acquisition of DPO Group. Meanwhile, the shares grew by around 0.72%.
Next shares rose by around 3.49% after the Company had raised full-year guidance and reported robust growth in interim top-line and bottom-line business, positively driven since the reopening of the UK economy.
