Vodafone Group’s Egyptian arm acquires 40 MHz of spectrum

Vodafone Group Plc’s (LON:VOD) arm Vodafone Egypt has received 40 MHz of 2.6 GHz TDD spectrum from Egypt’s regulatory and competition authority NTRA (National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority).

  • The spectrum will enable the largest mobile network operator in Egypt with active subscribers to expand network capacity.
  • The spectrum has a ten-year licence term through to 2030, and its payment has to be made over a three-year period with an initial payment of $270 million.
  • The acquired band of the spectrum will help the company in meeting the growing demand for dependable, high-quality voice and data services.
  • On 5 November 2020, the stocks of the company increased by 0.11% from its previous closing, hovering at around GBX 106.50 at 08:20 AM GMT+1.
