  • Three UK, the fourth-largest mobile network operator, has partnered with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to help in its ongoing rollout of 5G services.
  • TCS software will be helping the UK's leading mobile network carriers in configuring its new core next generation mobile network.
  • India-based TCS will also ensure that the configuration combines properly with the 5G radio access network. Its work will include 3G and 4G tuning changes, performance management, new site deployments and site upgrades.
  • These processes will help Three UK to ramp-up the configuration. It will also lessen physical errors, allowing first-time correct configuration.
  • Three UK’s new 5G radio access network is live across more than 1,000 sites in 175 towns and cities in the UK.

  • Commenting on the development of partnering TCS, Chief Networks Officer, Three UK, Carlo Melis said that the company’s decision to partner with TCS was primarily to go fast in delivery viz-a-viz remaining adaptable to changing requirements. He added that TCS was able to rapidly gather together and are now a part of our 5G delivery, supporting the network configuration.
  • Its worth pointing here that TCS and Three share a long and old bonding. TCS has been a Three UK’s trusted partner for the past 15 years, supporting it in its drive to become the first telecom company to host all its application on the public cloud.
