  • The UK’s Construction PMI contracted for the 8th consecutive month to 44.4 in December 2019 against 45.3 reported in November 2019. The deceleration in the Construction activities was even below the market expectation of 45.9. The contraction was mainly driven by political uncertainty which the UK was witnessing till December 13, 2019 and subdued client demand ahead of the general election. In 2019, the index only witnessed a small rise in activities during the month of January and April.
