PGF to play a crucial role in the economic recovery

As per Regional Economic Development Minister Shane Jones, at least NZD 600 million is refocused on projects with more immediate economic benefits. The Provincial Growth Fund (PGF) will play a significant role in NZ's post-pandemic recovery.

The investment includes unallocated funding from the Regional Investment Opportunities Contingency and repurposed Provincial Growth Fund (PGF) money.

The first tranche will include up to NZD 100m for riparian planting, waterway fencing, stock water reticulation, NZD 60m for road and rail investments and up to NZD 70m for upgrades of town halls, marae, war memorials, Pasifika churches, and war memorials.
