NZ Freezes Customs Fees to Improve Recovery

Minister of Customs, Jenny Salesa said that the government is freezing custom charges at the border. It will help import and export businesses and protect jobs from COVID-19 impacts.

By freezing the fee increase:

  • 70,000 importers will get a benefit of NZD 3.77 per import entry.
  • There will be no additional charges on six million low-value exports and eleven million low-volume imports.
  • Kiwi, import and export businesses, will save NZD 5 million.

Government is focused on helping businesses come out of Covid 19 impact soon, added Mr Jenny Salesa.
