Biosecurity, Conservation Jobs to Employ Redeployed Workers

As part of rebuilding the regional economy, the NZ government is expected to employ 160 people, who lost their jobs due to covid-19 crisis. The jobs will be given in 55 biosecurity and conservation projects.

The government had announced the NZD 100 million redeployment support package in March. These projects are part of this package. The redeployed employees will work in East Coast, Hawke’s Bay, Northland, and Canterbury, and the work will include removing invasive weed – wilding pines from farmland.
