AMA Recap: IPMB on Making Gold Interest Accessible

As global economic uncertainty continues, gold has experienced a notable resurgence, reaching new highs in August 2024. This uptick in gold prices is prompting renewed interest in the precious metal as a safeguard against economic instability. Blockchain technology, decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN), and artificial intelligence (AI) are playing a pivotal role in making gold more accessible and transparent to a broader audience.

(IPMB), a key player in the gold market, is enhancing accessibility through innovative approaches. The company offers a low-cost model for gold access, eliminating fees for storage, insurance, and physical delivery. Their Gold Trace 360 initiative ensures traceability from the gold's origin, positioning IPMB as a leader in vertically integrated gold operations.

IPMB’s approach involves co-ownership of gold mines in Ghana, focusing on the complete process from mining to refining and distribution. Long-term contracts with selected mines ensure a stable and cost-effective gold supply. Security measures are robust, including regular code reviews and security audits to safeguard against vulnerabilities in tokenization processes. Additionally, IPMB partners with accredited vaults for secure gold storage.

The integration of IoT and smart contracts aims to improve efficiency and transparency in IPMB's supply chain. By employing sensors and analyzing data with AI, IPMB enhances logistics, anticipates disruptions, and maintains the integrity of gold reserves.

The dual-token mechanism employed by IPMB facilitates portfolio diversification. The IPMB Token is linked to 18-karat gold doré bars and serves as a hybrid utility and payment tool. It also provides access to discounts on 24-karat gold through GEM NFTs. GEM NFTs, representing investment-grade gold, offer waived management, insurance, and storage fees and are fully traceable to their mine of origin.

IPMB Tokens can be exchanged for GEM NFTs and used for payments. The relationship between these tokens ensures that gold reserves in the ecosystem consistently match or exceed the combined total of IPMB Tokens and GEM NFTs. Upcoming features include staking, which will provide discounts on GEM NFTs based on staking duration and market conditions.

Future plans for IPMB include developing an NFT marketplace, securing banking licenses, and launching a crypto payment gateway called IPMB Vantage. The company also aims to expand services with credit and debit card processing, layer 2 solutions, AI-powered tools, and gold-backed stablecoins.
