CANADA PASSES BILL TO BANS LGBTQ CONVERSION THERAPY

*The New York Times stated that the new ban will prohibit forcing someone to undergo conversion therapy, taking them abroad for that purpose, and encouraging or advertising the practice. *For those who violate the ban, punishment can result in up to five years of imprisonment. *After previous two attempts in the last year trying to pass this law, David Lametti, Canada's justice minister, and Marci Ien, the minister for women, gender equality and youth, reenforced the movement to let the legislation in place. *The passing of this bill has put Canada amongst a small number of other nations like Brazil, Germany, and Malta who have all banned conversion therapy.
