Highlights
Drilling extended Golden Dyke mineralization to 560 metres depth and discovered two new vein sets 50 metres west of known mineralization.
High-grade results included 164.3 g/t gold equivalent over 0.5 metres and 48.9% antimony, one of the highest results on record for the project.
Infill drilling confirmed continuity of gold mineralization across a 100 to 110-metre gap, strengthening confidence in the system’s connectivity.
Southern Cross Gold Consolidated Ltd. (TSX:SXGC) has released results from four diamond drill holes at the Golden Dyke prospect, part of its 100%-owned Sunday Creek gold-antimony project in Victoria, Australia. The drilling results extend the depth and footprint of mineralization, confirm continuity of high-grade zones, and reveal some of the highest antimony grades reported from the project to date.
Golden Dyke Expands in Depth and Scale
Drilling has extended the Golden Dyke system to 560 metres below surface, one of the deepest holes completed to date, and intersected two entirely new gold veins 50 metres west of the previously known mineralization. This extension confirms the potential for further expansion of the deposit both laterally and vertically. Hole SDDSC175 intersected mineralization at shallow depths of about 50 metres below surface, further demonstrating near-surface potential.
High-Grade Gold and Antimony Intercepts
Multiple drill holes delivered high-grade intercepts, including 0.5 metres at 164.3 grams per tonne (g/t) gold equivalent (96.8 g/t gold, 28.2% antimony) from 776.4 metres in hole SDDSC168W1. The same hole also returned 0.2 metres at 170.2 g/t gold equivalent (168.0 g/t gold, 0.9% antimony). These results represent some of the highest gold and antimony grades recorded at Sunday Creek, with the 48.9% antimony intercept marking the third-highest antimony result achieved on the project.
Infill drilling continues to demonstrate grade continuity. Hole SDDSC171 bridged a 100 to 110-metre gap between previous drill holes, intercepting multiple vein sets and returning highlights such as 0.2 metres at 119.8 g/t gold equivalent (117.0 g/t gold, 1.2% antimony) from 457.6 metres and 0.9 metres at 68.1 g/t gold equivalent from 166.1 metres.
Expanded Drilling Program Underway
An additional drill rig has been mobilized to Sunday Creek, bringing the total to nine rigs currently in operation. Eight rigs are focused on infill and step-out drilling along a 1.6-kilometre strike length of the mineralized corridor, while one rig is testing regional targets. At present, 37 holes are being processed and analyzed, and nine more are in progress.
Since late 2020, 187 drill holes totaling more than 88,800 metres have been completed at Sunday Creek. The project is being advanced systematically to define the extent of high-grade gold and antimony mineralization along strike from the Christina to Apollo prospects.
