WestJet (TSX:ONEX) To Issue Refunds On Cancelled Flights Due To Covid-19

 

  • Refunds will be issued in the form of payment, instead of credits issued by airlines for future flights.
  • Lowest priced tickets will also be offered a refund if the flight is cancelled.
  • With this move, the company looks at reinstating the practice to align with the booking conditions and regulatory tariffs which were in place prior to Covid-19.
  • The refund issuing process will begin from November 2, starting with flights cancelled at the onset of the pandemic.
  • It will take six to nine months for the refunds process to be complete.
  • The company clarified it will not raise fares to pay for customer refunds, as per media reports.
