Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine Likely To Be Available by December-end

  • Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) and BioNTech (Nasdaq:BNTX) are expected to submit the approval request for their COVID-19 vaccine candidate BNT162b2 to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday, November 20 for urgent use in the US.
  • The two companies, which worked on the vaccine in partnership, has also begun approval request procedures with other countries, including Australia, Canada, Europe, Japan, and the UK.
  • Based on current estimates, the companies are expected to supply up to 50 million shots globally in 2020 and up to 1.3 billion shots by the end of 2021.
