Avanti Gold Corp (CSE: AGC) has revealed assay outcomes from eight historical diamond drill holes totaling 1,310.26 metres at the Akyanga Deposit within its Misisi Project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The previously unsampled core, re-logged and analyzed during an ongoing geological database review, yielded several near-surface and high-grade mineralized intervals, including 29.36 metres grading 1.43 g/t gold from surface and 9.90 metres grading 4.13 g/t gold. These findings reinforce the company’s interpretation of multiple stacked mineralized structures and will guide future drilling targets and geological modeling.

Key Highlights

  • Avanti Gold Corp (CSE: AGC) completed assays on 1,310.26 metres of previously unsampled historical drill core from eight diamond drill holes at Akyanga.
  • Significant intercepts include 29.36 metres at 1.43 g/t Au from surface in hole MSDD0130 and 9.90 metres at 4.13 g/t Au in hole MSDD0132.
  • A core inventory review uncovered 837 metres of additional unsampled core beyond the previously disclosed approximately 473 metres, expanding the total identified historical core.
  • Results support the geological model of multiple stacked mineralized structures in the southern Akyanga Deposit and will be integrated into future geological modeling and resource expansion efforts.

Comprehensive Re-Evaluation of Historical Core at Akyanga

Avanti Gold has finalized an extensive re-logging, sampling, and assaying program on eight historical diamond drill holes at the Akyanga Deposit, totaling 1,310.26 metres of core. A detailed review of the historical core inventory identified substantially more material than previously documented: an additional 837 metres of unsampled core was discovered beyond the roughly 473 metres disclosed earlier, bringing the total identified unsampled historical core to 1,310.26 metres. All eight holes have now been assayed, producing 1,284 samples analyzed by the independent SGS Analytical Laboratory in Mwanza, Tanzania.

This re-evaluation is part of Avanti’s ongoing efforts to review and optimize the Akyanga geological database. The eight historical holes are situated within the southern strike extension of the Akyanga mineralized system and lacked prior assay data. These holes do not target the main zones of the current 2026 drilling program but provide valuable geological and grade information along the southern strike extension for future geological modeling and drill targeting.

Noteworthy Assay Intercepts and High-Grade Zones

The assay results include several significant near-surface and high-grade mineralized intervals. Hole MSDD0130 delivered the longest intercept: 29.36 metres grading 1.43 g/t gold from surface. Additionally, it returned 12.30 metres grading 2.87 g/t gold from 55.20 metres depth, including narrow high-grade zones of 0.60 metre at 17.59 g/t gold and 0.50 metre at 37.53 g/t gold. MSDD0130 also produced 4.60 metres grading 3.94 g/t gold from 74.59 metres depth.

Hole MSDD0132 reported 9.90 metres grading 4.13 g/t gold from 133.60 metres, featuring a discrete 0.80 metre interval grading 37.71 g/t gold. Hole MSDD0133 returned a shorter but notably high-grade intercept of 1.50 metres grading 18.52 g/t gold from 27.90 metres. Additional results include 1.90 metres at 3.14 g/t gold in MSDD0134 and 3.50 metres at 1.73 g/t gold in MSDD0135. These assays provide further data between previously reported drill holes and support the current model of multiple stacked mineralized structures within Akyanga.

Geological Model of Multiple Stacked Mineralized Structures

Avanti’s geological interpretation characterizes the Akyanga Deposit as comprising multiple stacked mineralized structures. The newly assayed historical core reinforces this model, revealing several near-surface and high-grade intervals consistent with mineralization dipping toward the deposit’s southern portion across multiple parallel veins. The results strengthen the interpreted continuity of these stacked structures, especially in the southern area of the deposit.

The regional geology of the Misisi Project includes Proterozoic meta-sediments such as interbedded quartz muscovite schists, schistose arkoses, muscovite quartzites, quartzites, pebble conglomerates, and foliated mafic intrusions. Gold mineralization is linked to numerous stacked quartz vein zones sub-parallel to bedding, with strike lengths up to 2,000 metres and thicknesses generally under 10 metres. Vein zones dip moderately to shallowly southeast at the southern end of Akyanga, steepening near surface in central and northern parts, becoming near vertical at the northern end and flattening at depth. Weathering depth is estimated at about 30 metres.

Robust Quality Control and Assaying Protocols

Avanti applied stringent quality assurance and control measures during core sampling and assaying. Drill cores were sampled at maximum one-metre intervals and cut with a diamond saw. Half-core samples were sealed and sent to SGS Laboratory in Mwanza, Tanzania for analysis. Samples were crushed to 80% passing minus 2 millimetres, split, and pulverized to 90% passing 75 microns.

Gold assays were performed on 50-gram aliquots using fire assay methods, with high-grade samples verified by screen fire assay. The company inserted internationally recognized standards, blanks, and duplicates into sample batches before submission, adhering to industry best practices to ensure reliability and reproducibility of gold grade results.

Akyanga Deposit Resource and Misisi Project Overview

The Akyanga Deposit, centrally located within the Misisi Project in South Kivu province, DRC, hosts an NI 43-101 compliant Inferred Mineral Resource of 40.8 million tonnes averaging 2.37 g/t gold, containing 3.11 million ounces of gold. This estimate is based on 19,956 metres of historic drilling, including 105 diamond drill holes totaling 19,070 metres and six reverse circulation holes totaling 887 metres. The resource extends from surface to 350 metres vertical depth over a strike length of approximately 2,100 metres, calculated using a US$1,500 per ounce pit shell.

The Misisi Project covers three contiguous 30-year mining leases spanning 133 square kilometres along the 55-kilometre Kibara Gold Belt, a notable metallogenic province with significant gold deposits. Located about 250 kilometres south of Bukavu and 180 kilometres north of Kalemie, mineralization at Akyanga remains open at depth and along strike, indicating potential for resource growth. The reported assay results are not included in the current Mineral Resource Estimate, and Mineral Resources are not Mineral Reserves and lack demonstrated economic viability.

2026 Exploration Program and Accelerated Drilling Strategy

Avanti’s phased exploration strategy aims to maximize drilling efficiency and rapidly advance resource growth at Misisi. Phase 1 targets approximately 15,000 metres of drilling at Akyanga and Akyanga East deposits to expand the resource footprint, upgrade resource confidence, test mineralization extensions, and generate geological data for future growth. With four rigs operating simultaneously, the company expects to accelerate Phase 1 completion significantly.

Phase 2 will begin following the arrival of additional rigs, expanding the fleet to six by July 2026. This will enable simultaneous drilling across high-priority regional targets including Akyanga Extensions, Akyanga East, Ngalula, Tulonge, Lubitchako, and Kilombwe. Avanti describes this six-rig campaign as one of the most aggressive exploration efforts in Central Africa. Samples from the 2026 drilling are being assayed at SGS Mwanza, with results to be released after QA/QC review.

Upcoming Exploration Milestones and News Flow

Avanti anticipates several exploration milestones in the coming months, including initial Phase 1 assay results, expansion to six drill rigs, Phase 2 drilling commencement, ongoing assay releases, and resource growth drilling targeting Akyanga. The company also expects progress toward future resource updates, technical studies, and initial results from regional exploration targets within Misisi.

Investors can expect regular updates on drilling progress, assay results, and developments concerning the six-rig exploration campaign. Geological data from the re-assayed historical core and current drilling will inform future resource estimations and guide exploration and development at Misisi. Major rig expansion and Phase 2 initiation are targeted by end of July 2026.
