American electric vehicle and clean energy leader Tesla has reportedly dissolved its public relations (PR) department.
Tesla: PR Team Can’t Compete with the Twitter Account
Apparently, Elon Musk will be the sole voice for the company’s announcements. The Twitter accounts disseminate company and product information for the media and the public.
Elon Musk, with around 39 million followers, tweets at least once a day and keep his followers informed and engaged.
* Tesla Model S Price Cut to $69,420
Tesla recently cut down the price of its electric vehicle Model S.
The reduced price is published on the Tesla website, and also no surprises, Tesla co-founder and CEO Elon Musk tweeted that the Sedan will now cost US$69.420 in the US market.
Tesla also reduced the Model S price in China by 3 percent.
Will PR stint bite?
However, in the long run, Tesla’s ‘Save on PR’ campaign may yield its own benefits.
Elon Musk is known for bringing disruption with its innovative ideas, such as Tesla selling its cars dealer-free directly to the customer.
Tesla’s innovative marketing strategies have also elevated companies’ image to where it is now. Its social media page plays a big part in shaping up that image.
